Monday Motivation: Just Believe
Just believe. That's what Jesus said to Jairus, one of the leaders of the synagogue. Nothing big, right? It wouldn't be abnormal, but the circumstances are anything but normal. Some folk came running to Jairus' to let him know that his daughter just died. They said, “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?” (Mark 5.35)
In other words, it's over, Jairus. Your daughter is dead. No need to seek Jesus' input or help. That would be true for anyone else, but this is Jesus Christ. And upon hearing what they told Jairus, Jesus said to him, "Don't be afraid; just believe." (Mark 5.36) Shortly after that, Jesus raises the little girl from the dead. She was alive again. She gets up and walks around and Jesus instructs the people to feed her.
You've been walking around dead. For weeks and months. Maybe even for years. It's time for you to come alive again. To ask God to bring back from the dead your dreams. To bring back from the dead His plans for you that you've forgotten about. It's time to live again. To feed your dreams again. To feed your belief.
All you have to do: just believe.
