La Bamba and The Black Mamba: Do They Have Anything In Common?

The late singer, Ritchie Valens, is best known for his hit song, La Bamba. In 1987, there was an autobiographical movie of the same name made about his life.

Retired NBA player, Kobe Bryant, third on the NBAs all-time scoring list, gave himself the nickname The Black Mamba.

La Bamba. The Black Mamba. Do they have anything in common? Let's take a peek.

In the movie La Bamba, there's a brief exchange between Ritchie and his boo, Donna.

Donna: Do you always carry a guitar?

Ritchie: It's my future.

Donna: Sure of yourself, aren't you?

Ritchie: Yeah. Aren't you?

Well, alright there, Ritchie! You tell 'em, bruh!

Kobe once said, "I don't want to be the next Michael Jordan. I only want to be Kobe Bryant."

La Bamba. The Black Mamba.

Both only wanted to be the best. They had great belief in their abilities. They had even greater belief in themselves. It's the kind of belief and confidence that you must have in yourself if you're going to be successful and live a life of significance in 2017 and beyond.

You've got to be sure of yourself and only want to be the best you that you can be.
